This is a swamp rose. I've spent years trying to find something that will grow in this bed, which is practically under water in winter. The shrub on the left is Gomphostigma Virgatum. It's very pretty and seems to survive in this bed, and a bone dry one round the corner!

The Osier has fallen over in the spring storms, however we are hoping that, since it is propped up by the pear tree, it will survive.
